From the recording Courage of Fools
During this particular song's development, the city of Las Vegas and Dionysius popped into my mind's eye. This eventually led to a fun song in which I dreamed up a wild weekend of revelry in Las Vegas.
I sang and danced with Kevin Bacon as he bellowed out the song Footloose with a dude dressed like Elvis. I gambled and I threw the dice. At the end of the night, which is still very blurry to me, I met Dionysius himself. He winked and said the whole Halloween Party was on him. There was much laughter, dancing, great food, wine and other strong beverages. It was a huge, raucous crowd, many of whom were hanging from the chandeliers in Bacchian Bliss. Then I woke up. You will have to listen to the whole song to get the rest of the sordid details.
There is a great lead synth riff towards the back-end of the song which takes it all up a notch. My copious use of mind altering "vocal" treatment was a hugely fun learning experience for me. I played around with formants, saturation, chorus, flanging, harmonies and the entire stereo field. Enjoy and crank this one up (consider using headphones to pick up my stereo field experiments better).

Dionysian Wink
By David Husted
v1
I stuck around with less than twenty pesos
wish I had a little more.
Threw my hand down bought another round of chasers
bouncer walked me out the door.
{break}
I remember
Kevin Bacon wearing that blazer on a
small stage with a guitar.
Singing Footloose with a dude dressed like Elvis.
He dropped the mic and danced some more.
Hey, there's gonna be hell to….
Ch
pay
tonight
Bright lights
Spinning loudly
These endless nights
A coronation
The King and Queen
A revelation
These endless nights
Oh such elation
the King and Queen
Las Vegas take me
v2
Dionysian wink as he shares the drink
His desecration taps the night
With listening bars and performing bards
Play that gamble and throw the dice
Now
Ch repeat
Bridge
{Instr Synth Riff Section}
Ch outro
2nd with synth riff
