Some folk are deeply rooted by nature and feel a profound and lasting connection to different regions, towns, and places. I read this story about a town in central Pennsylvania that had a coal fire burning under it for years and years and years (since 1962!). Many refused to leave the area despite the fire. I couldn’t get it out of my head; so it turned itself into a song. The town is called Centralia.
