I keep all my songs in a spreadsheet and let a random shuffle choose the pick of the day. Today it landed on “Change the World.”
It’s from my first album, Love’s Marrow. Like most firsts, it’s full of things I’d approach differently now—especially on the mix side. Still, I love stumbling back into my older “rough around the edges” music. It reminds me that this was the crucible where future inspiration and learning took shape.
I bow to my younger self for having the courage to create with almost nothing in the toolbox—except the passion to make something real.
The lyrics speak to young love, and hearts that know they can change the world for the better. We still need this more than ever now.
Still dig my little jazzy outro at the end too.
