Gravity — this is on Spotify, but you can find it on any of your favorite streaming services. Give it a spin.
This is from my first album, and I can certainly hear the flaws in this early work. But I’m still proud of having made it — and, more importantly, of having the courage to put it out there. When I first started, releasing something I had created and sharing it with the public took a lot of courage. Words to those hesitant about sharing your art. Just fucking do it.
Gravity
by David Husted
V1
I think I’ll write you, a shiny song
Sing a melody, painted pretty white lies
Instead of words, I should have said
I’ll wipe those salty tears with empty promises
Broken trust, and tabled dreams
Your horizon’s ever increasing Gravity
Sneak out the window and take flight
Circle ancient towers turned into parking lots
Mist, the sweet mist, after summer rains,
Clear blue day ahead, but I’m not seeing it
Near the crest we breathe, out to the heights
A hopeful rhythm rising, but there is no land in sight
Ch1
Sweep the floor clean of sad memories
Hate craving more hate or love’s simplicity
Echo’s, I hear your echoes, in this empty room
Just water rippling into ocean storms
V2 repeat V1
Ch2 repeat Ch1
