This song was released as a single on 02 April 2021 and also resides on my album Many Faces released 15 APR 2022.

The house I grew up in has an old Baldwin upright piano in the living room.  It is still there.  I used to sit on its creaky seat for hours and play it.  I actually enjoyed practice. My mother was my first teacher. She passed away over ten years ago and I still miss her smile, laugh and love very much. Since that beginning, I have gone from dabbling in playing classical music, to jamming with friends in basements playing rock/pop originals, to playing out live with cover bands and finally creating my own DIY releasable music productions.  I have really loved the whole craft of creating original music.  Taking an initial concept and giving it life through sound design, performance, music arrangement, lyric writing, mixing, mastering and the music release process has been a mind boggling learning experience and, for me, the purest type of joy.

This song, which I named Escher, as I believe I had stumbled across one of Escher's drawings, drew me into a surreal rabbit hole of sound design, 80's retro sound feel and a certain song ambiance that felt right to me at the time. 

At times, I enjoy seeing comments from others as they give me an alternate perspective on my own originals.

Here are a few comments on this particular song that informed me of the song's 80's synth wave retro vibe which, I believe, had not dawned on me as an influence at the time of release but was more obvious once pointed out.
