I've always been drawn to songs that leave a little space for the listener.
Not because they don't mean anything, but because they can mean different things at different times.
There are songs I hear one way today and completely differently a week later. The song hasn't changed. Somehow, I have.
Glide is one of those songs for me. I remember writing it, but I'm not sure I could tell you exactly where it came from. Even now, it still feels just out of reach... like a dream you can almost remember, but not quite.
I actually like that.
Maybe that's what it means to glide.
That's the funny thing about music. Once it's released, the songwriter loses ownership of its meaning.
Maybe that's exactly how it should be.
