Cinematic Sound with Orchestration

My latest song was meant to come out just before Halloween, but life intervened, and the official release didn’t land until today, 14 Nov 25. So be it.

The atmosphere of the piece is loosely inspired by a novel I read years ago—Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.

I set out to build a cinematic sound with orchestration that leans into the eerie and surreal—a deliberately unsettling, ominous tone. My aim was to create something that could live in a thriller, a dark film, or a gritty TV sequence.

One particular sound-designed tone pulled me deep into the project’s sonic direction. It’s difficult to describe, and it appears throughout the track. Instead of trying to explain it, I’ll point directly to it: go to the 53-second mark. You’ll hear it clearly—a cold, almost chilling signal—and it recurs several times as the song unfolds.

Below is the link to the YouTube song video version. The video isn’t meant as a full visual production—it’s a patchwork of quickly gathered clips assembled to give the track some motion and atmosphere. Think of it as a rough visual companion rather than a centerpiece, created simply to carry the music forward.

Thank you for giving the song a listen—your time and attention mean more than you know. Please stream this song on your favorite streaming platform numerous times (Apple, Pandora, Spotify, other). I'll spring for a coffee or beer with you at the pub once all the royalties start rolling in ; )

Have a Fantastic Weekend!!  and Thanks Again.

Sincerely,

Dave
