Crows gather, ink-black constellations

Crow is coming.

Next Friday, September 18, I’m releasing a new song.

I’ve been sitting with this one for a while, partly because I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. Some songs announce themselves pretty clearly. They tell you what they are, where they belong, and probably what playlist they’d like to be on.

Crow never did that.

It started with me messing around with sounds and gradually turned into a song. Somewhere along the way, an electronic sound I created started sounding like a crow. That little accident stuck around—and eventually became part of the personality of the track.

And now here we are.

I’ve decided not to worry too much about what category Crow belongs in. It’s electronic. It’s eclectic. There are some darker edges to it. There’s even a little bit of that October-in-the-air feeling.

But mostly, it’s just one of those songs that came out of following a sound and seeing where it went.

I really do appreciate the fact that you’re here—and that you’ve continued to come along for the ride as I make these strange little things.

Crow flies next Friday, September 18.

Thanks for your company.
